Economy Back on Track

Following on last years economic downturn, the economy should experience one of the highest growth rates across Latin America this year. Exports are expected to rebound strongly, as the external sector starts benefiting from the recently signed free-trade agreement with China, while the domestic sector should benefit from strong investment growth as the government's stimulus measures continue. Meanwhile, inflation remains well below the Central Bank’s target, but is expected to rise somewhat throughout the year.
